Rambling On… 16 August 2019
I haven’t got much to tell you about what’s been happening in my life. I actually haven’t been out of the house for a couple of weeks. The weather has been so wet and miserable, especially on the weekends—did someone say Murphy’s Law—I haven’t wanted to get out into the elements.
But I can tell you that yesterday I finally got my central heating serviced. I have been trying for ages to get a gas plumber out to my home to make sure my heater is running the way it should be without emitting any deadly poisonous carbon monoxide gases. I’ve rung umpteen tradies, left messages but whoever I called never returned my calls.
Thankfully, a family member recommended someone whom I called on Tuesday and he came to my home Thursday morning. Everything with my heater was fine and safe, and though I expected to be charged a fortune, the fee wasn’t as bad as I thought. Nevertheless, I don’t think you can put a price on safety or peace of mind.
We and yes, I mean even myself, vacuum the filter which leads to the air intake every week religiously since my son and I have allergies to dust and other pollens and such. The serviceman couldn’t believe how clean the heater motor and fan were, and he asked me if it was a new system. It’s ten years old, but still going strong.
I can’t stress how important it is to have your heating systems and heaters checked every couple of years just to be on the safe side. We probably wouldn’t even realise we were being slowly poisoned if there was a gas leak anywhere.
I’m not sure what’s happening this weekend, but I’m definitely getting out of the house on one of the two upcoming days.
All my chores are up to date, since I did the laundry this morning and the other jobs on my list will be tackled late this afternoon, Friday and early evening. I need to get out of the house before I start climbing the walls.

What Have I Been Writing?
I’m writing Pack Law 9. As I told you all in one of my recent newsletters, I’ve written and submitted Pack Law 8 to Siren BookStrand who’ve agreed to publish my book.
In Pack Law 8 which hasn’t been released yet, I set it up to bring more people into the series so I could continue with it. Hence writing book number 9.
I’m not sure what I’m going to work on next but I’m hoping after having a break in September I’ll be refreshed and raring to go.

What Have I Been Reading?
I’ve not long finished reading Forever His (In the Dark, Book 1) by Violet Haze. While this story was original and I mostly enjoyed it, some of the elements were a bit hard to read about.
Although I know this book is fiction, make believe, the story started out very dark. This book is about BDSM which I like reading but when I got a bit deeper into the story and found out what was happening, I nearly deleted it. However, I’m glad I didn’t because while there is a lot of drama and elements that some of you may not want to read about, I was glad to read about the characters happy ever after.
I don’t want to go into too much detail and spoil things for you if you do decide to read this story, but be warned, in the beginning, the main male character isn’t aware his heroine hasn’t consented to anything he’s doing to her.
I will leave it there for now.
