Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

This will be my last newsletter for a while, so I am wishing you all Merry Christmas and a safe a prosperous New Year.

There is so much happening in my life and with my family at the moment. My loved ones need me and will be taking priority over everything else.

My son has just had a bad bout of COVID, but he is recovering, and because we were all diligent with hygiene, thankfully, my husband and I haven’t contracted the dreaded virus even though he lives with us.

Yesterday, after he tested negative again and because he was feeling up to it, he and I went through the house, cleaning, and sanitising everything.

My husband is going into hospital to have surgery before Christmas, on my birthday actually, and will need a bit more attention and care from me. As long as he is okay that’s all I care about.

My daughter was recently diagnosed with an intra subdural tumour on her spine/spinal cord and will likely have surgery early in the new year. Her recovery period is approximately two months.

Post-surgery she won’t be allowed to move for around four days, and she will likely be in the hospital for a week. She may also need more surgery, but we won’t know anything until the initial operation is done.
Because of where the growth is, pressing on two clusters of nerves, she is in a lot of pain.

We’re all hoping that the surgery is successful, and no major nerves are damaged but we’re also hoping that all of the tumour will be able to be removed so she is no longer in pain.

Finally, I just really want to thank all of you for putting up with my ramblings this year. This has become a bit of a cathartic exercise, allowing me to both, share a little about myself, and letting me put down how I feel. Thank you for listening.

Also, thank you for supporting my writing and buying my books. I know things have been tough for everyone, and the current financial pressures are only going to make them harder. I truly appreciate your investing in my books and supporting me.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Stay safe, sane, happy, and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?

Last month I wrote the Fifth instalment of my Rescue Ranch series. Saving Tiana has been contracted for publication by Siren BookStrand. Thanks, Siren. I won’t be writing anything this month as I need a break and because my family needs me.

I’m not sure if I’ll be writing in January or February either. It all depends on what’s going on with my daughter.

What Have I Been Reading?

The 3013 Series

I am re-reading the books in the 3013 series as I found a few stories I hadn’t read while I was cleaning up my Kindle by removing books I’d read, and saving them to the cloud.

I really like this romance science fiction series.

The authors who wrote these books, Laurie Roma, Susan Hayes, and Kali Argent, have done a wonderful job of keeping readers engaged.

I would recommend this series to read.

I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next time.

Love,

Becca Van XXOO
