What A Treat, Lunch With My Sister ?

Rambling On… 13 August 2021.

Regional Victoria which is Covid free was taken out of lockdown three days ago, but we still have some restrictions in place. No visitors to the home as that is the main way the virus is being spread.

I don’t mind that in the least since my workdays aren’t being interrupted by unexpected visitors.

Yesterday I went out to have lunch with my sister during her work lunch break. It was great to get out of the house and catch up with her for an hour. We have plans to do it again in a fortnight or a month, depending on our schedules.

My son, who has a new job working for an IT company, will be back at work on Monday. He has only been working for this firm for a couple of weeks. During his interview, he told the manager he’d booked holidays for this week. The manager was happy to give him the planned time off without pay.

Though he and his girlfriend were planning on a couple of nights away, those plans had to be cancelled because of the lockdown, which as I said was lifted earlier than expected. My son loves his new job and to be honest it will be really nice to have the house to myself again without any distractions through the day.

I love both my kids but trying to work with people in the house can sometimes be challenging. ?

The greater Melbourne Metro area is still in lockdown due to the spread of Covid, which doesn’t affect us directly, it does so indirectly since we can’t visit my daughter. However, we are staying in contact via phone and face to face video calls.

Even though we’re out of lockdown the other states borders remained closed. Hubby and I are watching and waiting, hoping those borders will be opened to country Victorians so we can go on our holiday, but I’m not holding my breath.
We will nevertheless still be taking our break, just not sure when.

My man and I are finally having our second Covid vaccinations tomorrow. We had to wait twelve weeks for our second injection so our immunity will be stronger against the virus.

Lots of people are coming forth for their jabs and once 70 – 80% of the population have had their inoculations, we’re hoping there won’t be a need to go into more snap lockdowns.

Time will tell.

I hope you all have a great weekend.
Stay safe, sane, happy, and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?

I finished writing and have submitted Slick Rock 35: Perfect Harmony to Siren BookStrand and am hoping they will like my story enough to publish it.

I finished early since I was ahead because of our plans to go on vacation.

I’ve started working on another story for next month as I’m hoping we’ll be away for most of September travelling our great country.

What Have I Been Reading?

Rebecca Zanetti - Broken - Deep Ops Book 3

I’ve just finished reading Susan Stoker’s, Finding Lexie (SEAL Team Hawaii Book 2).

This was a great book as was the first in the series. I’m always engrossed in Ms. Stokers books and can’t wait for the next release no matter which series she’s writing about.

I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.

Love,

Becca Van XXOO
