Rambling On… 19 July 2019

So last weekend my daughter came home and stayed Saturday night. Unfortunately, my son still had to start work late Saturday afternoon, but we got to spend time with him on Sunday.

My daughter and I spent time in the kitchen together making that rich delicious flourless chocolate cake for dessert and then she went out to the garage to spend some quality time with my man.

That night, after eating gluten free lasagne, hubby, my daughter and I sat around the dining room table, drinking a couple of cocktails and playing monopoly. We had music playing and it was a lot of fun.

Since I’m a lightweight where alcohol is concerned, it made playing the game interesting. I actually ended up winning but it was only because of the luck of the draw and the roll of the dice since I’m no expert.

It was fantastic to talk to my daughter as we all joked about and sipped on our drinks.

Sunday was the day we celebrated my man’s birthday a day early. We had roast lamb, roast and steamed veggies for lunch, and you guessed it, warmed chocolate cake with ice-cream for dessert. Needless to say, we were all full and didn’t eat any dinner.

I sent my girl home with leftover lasagne, roast lamb and chocolate cake. She was thankful and happy she wouldn’t have to cook for a while.

Thank you to everyone for your get well wishes when I was plagued with that cold. I really appreciate or your kind words.

I have no idea what we’re doing this weekend.

However, I have promised my mom to take her to the shops on Saturday morning since it’s my father’s birthday on the 23rd and she wants to buy him a gift. She can’t drive anymore and has to rely on my Dad to ferry her about.

Of course, since she wants his present to be a surprise having him driving her to get his own gift would ruin things.

As I sit here typing out this newsletter, Toby, our 15 year old Beagle, is standing about two feet from me staring at me. It’s just after 4.p.m Friday afternoon and he’s decided it’s time for his dinner.

To be fair, this is now his routine most nights, sometimes even earlier. The poor old man seems to want to eat earlier and earlier every day.

I’ll feed him soon because if I don’t, he’s going to start pacing with impatience and when that doesn’t work, he’ll start pressing his nose to my leg every couple of minutes.

I can almost hear him talking to me in my head saying, come on, mum, I’m hungry, it’s time for dinner. His fur is also getting whiter and whiter as he loses pigment from his coat, but he’s doing okay for the moment and that’s all matters.

What Have I Been Writing?

I’m still writing Pack Law 8: Unchartered Territory.

The stories going well and I have to say I’ve liked revisiting Aztec, New Mexico and the family who all live in the massive den house.

I’ve also got some ideas for me in this series but I’m not sure what I’ll be writing next.

What Have I Been Reading?

I’ve just finished reading Daddy Bear (Montana Daddies Book 1) by Leylah Roberts.

While I liked the story with the BDSM aspects of it, I’m not sure about the Daddy/Child element of the story.

The sex scenes were steamy, the characters developed, and the plot was good. If you like Daddy elements in your romance novels, then this one is for you.

I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.

Love,

Becca Van XXOO
