Rambling On… 11 October 2019

I don’t normally talk about my underwear, but my sister put me onto an Australian company called Boody. They specialise in making organic underwear made from bamboo.

I’ve searched and searched for undies made totally from cotton in the stores because all the shops now seem to only have knickers (panties) which are mostly elastane or non-breathable material. Anyone with sensitive skin who gets dermatitis, eczema or psoriasis, will understand how important it is to have undies that breathe so as not to exacerbate skin conditions.

My daughter and I are susceptible to the conditions above and have been searching far and wide for comfortable under-things which don’t irritate to wear. Boody products are awesome.

I just recently bought myself 2 pairs of knickers and am going to buy myself some more. I’ve also bought a couple of pairs for the rest of my family as Christmas gifts to try out and decide if they like them and maybe purchase more. They aren’t cheap products in comparison to the chain stores, but I have to say they are worth every penny.

Since I know no one in my family other than my wonderful man reads my newsletter, I don’t have to worry about spilling the beans about the gifts I’ve bought. My daughter has extreme reactions to wool and was telling me she really wanted a King-sized doona (quilt) for her bed. I bought her one for Christmas. It’s also made from bamboo which won’t irritate her sensitive skin and will hopefully be warm enough in winter and keep her cooler in the upcoming summer months. I also bought her a doona cover as well as my son and his fiancée.

My son and his girl will be moving into their own home sometime next year so I figured I couldn’t go wrong buying them things for their new house, like sheets, towels and quilt covers.

I will get them each a small personalised gift each, too.

I hate spending money normally, especially on myself, but I have to say I love spending it on my family. Doesn’t it make your heart all warm and fuzzy when you see your kids, even if they’re adults open their gifts on Christmas morning or on their birthdays? I do.

We didn’t do much last weekend or anything other than work through the week. Hence the dribble of crap I’m writing right now.

My hubby is working this weekend and since I’m a little behind myself I might too. I didn’t get to see my sister last weekend, but maybe on Sunday, I’ll catch up with her.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Stay safe, happy and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?

I’m still writing Slick Rock 27. I’d liked to have been further along in the story, but I’ve been doing a lot of editing and since the deadline dates for those weren’t that long, they took precedence over my writing.

Since I’ve been back from holidays, nearly three weeks ago, I’ve edited 3 books. The first edit usually takes me 2 days because I go slowly trying to catch and pick up on any errors I’ve made. The 2nd edit usually only takes me a full day. I don’t read as fast when I edit so I try not to overlook my mistakes.

All in all, I’ve done nine days of editing so in my mind I’m a little behind where I’d normally be if I’d been working on one of my books.

What Have I Been Reading?

I’ve not long finished reading Susan Stoker’s Claiming Sarah, (Ace Security Book 5).

It was an awesome story, but then Ms. Stoker’s books usually have me engrossed from the first page to the last. If you haven’t read any of her work, I’d recommend you do. You will not be disappointed.

I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.

Love,

Becca Van XXOO
