I Felt Something Pull And Click. ?

Rambling On… 5 March 2021.

Did you ever think you could break a bone in your foot while sitting down?

Let me tell you that it is very possible.

On the night of Friday, the 20th of February, hubby and I were sitting outside talking. I had bare feet since it was a warm day and thought I saw something crawling on my foot. I turned both of my feet to the outside edge, felt something pull and click. I thought that was a bit strange, but I didn’t pay much attention. However, when I started walking the pain started and just got worse. I couldn’t weight bear on my left foot so I ended up limping using the ball of my foot so I could walk.

My foot throbbed all night and on Saturday I knew there was something wrong. After a trip to the doctors and then to the hospital to get an x-ray since all the radiology clinics were closed, I found out I had a fractured bone in my foot. The 5th metatarsal, the outside bone on my foot apparently had a weak spot and when my tendon stretched to capacity and wouldn’t stretch any further, the bone gave way.

Thankfully, I could still hobble about and we still went away. I didn’t need to do anything other than keep my foot strapped up and wasn’t allowed to wear any other footwear than sneakers. The reason was to help keep the fractured bone in place, so it didn’t break off completely. If that happens, I’ll end up having surgery. Since I don’t want that I’ve been wearing my sneakers every day.

My man and I had a great time away. Though I couldn’t walk too far, we just relaxed and chilled while communing with nature.

There were a lot of koalas about the place since we could hear them grunting and growling at night-time, but when we went looking for them, we couldn’t find them. If it hadn’t been for a couple of cockatoo’s screeching and squawking, we mightn’t have found the koala perched up in the gum tree.
Cool Koala

On the second last night, a koala had obviously moved closer to our campsite and as we were having a cup of coffee, it climbed down the tree and moved to another one close by. We only ever saw the two koalas’ but there were a lot more about than we could see. The wildlife is great at camouflaging themselves.
Climbing Koala  Rest Koala
We saw a couple of kangaroos and wallabies and of course lots of birds. Including kookaburras. I loved waking up in the morning to the laughter of the kookaburras. That’s much more pleasant than an alarm clock.

I hope you are all doing well and staying safe.

Have a great weekend.

Stay safe, sane, happy, and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?

I’m writing Slick Rock 33. Katie’s twin is about to get her story and though I’ve just started, I’m liking things so far. It will be interesting to see how things pan out between Kiara Bellamy and the Cage brothers, Storm, Jenson, and Reece.

Not sure where the plot is going as yet, but I’ll have to wait and see where my characters lead me.

What Have I Been Reading?

Gargoyles- A Shifter and Rockstar Romance Boxed Set by Lisa Carlisle

I’ve just finished reading Heat which I purchased in a trilogy titled Gargoyles: A Shifter and Rockstar Romance Boxed Set (Underground Encounters Boxed Set Book 3) by Lisa Carlisle.

While I enjoyed the first story, it was a quick read. All the threads were tied up and though I liked the characters I would’ve liked a longer story.

I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.

Love,

Becca Van XXOO
