Frustration and Disappointment ?

Rambling On… 23 July 2021.

Victoria. Lockdown 5.0.

I ended up in a downer after going back into lockdown for the fifth time and had to delay our plans to go on holiday. While I know others in different parts of the world have been in lockdown for twelve months and are just attempting to get back to normal and I totally understand how frustrating that is. I am very much aware of how lucky we have been due to our Island Isolation. Our Covid medical emergency has been, to date, the envy of the whole world given the relatively low case numbers and deaths on record.

I know this can sound like an entitled point of view, but it is still hard not to feel frustrated being allowed to come out of lockdown number 4 and get your hopes up to live “covid” normally, only to be told you can’t go anywhere because of the stupidity of others, to me is worse.

The lack of ability to plan, anticipate and prepare is the most frustrating and mentally challenging part of this Pandemic.
We had a semblance of freedom, so we planned, and prepared for our trip. Thanks to a couple of knowingly infected individuals from another state who didn’t adhere to the rules and travelled interstate, we’re locked down again. This stupid act has locked down the entire east coast of Australia as well as other states.
However, on a brighter note, that doesn’t mean our plans are totally ruined. My man and I are still planning to get away, we just don’t know when that will happen yet.

Getting On with Today

I spent a week pottering around the house trying to think of another story to write, which was way more difficult than it should have been. I think because I’d wound down, looking forward to our vacation I was out of work mode.

I wasn’t the only one of us depressed. Even my hubby was in the doldrums when our plans were stuffed up. That is saying something as he rarely gets upset about things. He was fortunately able to contact clients and bring forward jobs, enabling him to return to work on Monday.

Our state, Victoria, was virtually Covid free with the exception of a few people in hotel quarantine, after travelling home from overseas.

I think we’ll be in lockdown for at least another couple of weeks but that isn’t certain either. We’ll be updated next Tuesday on what’s happening.

Maybe we’ll have to work through the entirety of August, and we’ll get to go away in September for our 32nd wedding anniversary. I’m hoping it will be before then, but who can tell.

Shit happens, you adjust, then you get over it. Right?

Have a great weekend.
Stay safe, sane, happy, and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?

Three days ago, I started writing Slick Rock 35. Though I don’t have many words down yet, I can reveal a little about the story.

Terri O’Brien has had a hell of a life. One that she’s had no control over but that’s all about to change. With the help of Draven, Kyden and Langston Reeve as well as other men in Slick Rock, she will get her hard fought for liberty.

What Have I Been Reading?

Kris Michaels Jeremiah, (Guardian Defenders, Book 4)

I’m halfway through Kris Michaels Jeremiah, (Guardian Defenders, Book 4).

I really like this author and have read most of her stories. Though the book started out with a bang and a violent twist that turned my stomach I haven’t been able to stop reading.

It’s a good book and I can’t wait to read about the hero’s and heroines happy ending.

I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.

Love,

Becca Van XXOO
