From The Bottom Of My Heart – Thank You ?⚕️

Rambling On… 15 October 2021.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and medical frontline workers putting themselves, their own health, their lives, and their families on the line. You’re all true heroes and I can’t thank you all enough.

The general public tends to go about their business and their lives tending to their jobs and their own families which is as it should be. However, it isn’t until things are tough and dangerous that we realize how brave some people truly are.

Our police and our military are also huge heroes in my mind and though I’ve said thank you to them on and off over the years, the recent situation has brought really close to home for me how heroic the medical profession on all sides really is after a phone call to my sister.

She’s a phlebotomist, a person who takes blood samples and other fluid samples and swabs to send off to a laboratory to be assessed by orders from a doctor. I wanted to catch up with her and her husband, go out to dinner, since we’re currently allowed to, but she said no.

When I asked her why she told me she was working on the frontlines, testing people who might be and were Covid-19 positive. Even though she’s wearing all the PPE protective clothing, masks and gloves, there is still a possibility she could be infected with the virus.

She told me about the rigmarole, donning fresh gloves after sanitising her hands after each test with a new patient. Her hours are from 7:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. every shift. Tired doesn’t begin to say how she feels at the end of her workday. Bone weary exhausted would be more apt.

Hence the reason she isn’t willing to socialise and possibly spread the virus to others.
She was asked by her boss if she was willing to work on the frontlines to give our emotionally and physically exhausted frontline workers a break and she agreed.

She’s not the only one working her arse off day after day, week after week, with no respite in view. The hospital ICUs are full of extremely sick people, being cared for by our amazing doctors and nurses.

So again, thank you to each and every one of you for caring, for tending the sick and for dealing with crap you shouldn’t have to.
You’re all real-life heroes in my mind.

I hope you are all well.
Have a great weekend.
Stay safe, sane, happy, and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?

I’m still writing Alaskan Wildlands book 6. Tasha, twin sister to Tayla is getting her story and I have to say it’s going well. I had the plot mapped out in my head, but Tasha decided to take me in a completely different direction to where I thought we’d be. She’s a strong woman but also extremely vulnerable because of what she’s dealt with.

I’m not telling you anymore because I don’t want to spoil the plot.

Last month I wrote Slave Gold Elites 1: Amongst the Stars. Siren BookStrand has agreed to publish my new science fiction, fantasy book which is due to be released on November 8. Thanks Siren you’re the best.

What Have I Been Reading?

Hideout At Whiskey Gulch by Ella James

I just finished reading Montana Seal, (Brotherhood Protectors Book 1), by Elle James.

Reading about Hank “Montana” Patterson and Sadie McClain kept me engrossed from the first page to the last. If you want some action and some romance, then I’d recommend this book. It was an enjoyable read.

I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.

Love,
