For The Love of Our ? Fur Babies

Rambling On… 19 August 2022.

Janice W, you’re in my thoughts and my prayers.
You’re a wonderful person and a great friend.
Sending you my love xxoo.

Last weekend my man and I went for a drive. We didn’t go too far or do much, but it was nice to get out of the house. We ended up in Camperdown which is a couple of hours southwest of where we live. It was a cold day since we’re in winter.

Because of the la nina weather cycle our country is experiencing, it has been wet and miserable. My heart goes out to all the people in affected flood zones.

We haven’t done much other than work and tend to house chores lately, so it’s really difficult to think of something to write in this newsletter that you all will be interested in.

I didn’t know until recently that Cavalier King Charles dogs had a propensity to have seizures. Apparently, the poor dogs’ skulls/heads are too small for their brains.

My daughter has one of these dogs and we all love Max. He’s my fur baby grandchild and he has the best manners and is so affectionate.

Poor Max had to go to the vet recently. He needed to get a tooth removed and he had a couple of large wart growths which needed to be removed. My daughter decided that they needed to come off because he was opening them up after scratching at them.

Max has just recently developed seizures and though they are mild, more of the vacant type with a bit of twitching, I still wish he didn’t have them.

My mum has had seizures for over 40 years as a result of three lots of brain surgeries for brain tumours. She is on medication, but it took a very long time to find the right prescriptions to lessen the seizures.

Anyway, she’s still here and has all her faculties. She of course cannot drive and hasn’t for a long time. She only has one functioning eye as her optic nerve was cut during the first operation she had.

My point: I hate that there are so many health issues from all the dogs and cats being bred to make specific breeds and being sold for lots of money. We all love animals, and any pet becomes a family member. For the love of our fur babies.

If hubby and I ever decide to get another dog, it will be a rescue dog and not a fancy breed from a puppy farm, which mostly only exists just for profit.

Have a great weekend.
Stay safe, sane, happy, and healthy.
Love Becca Van xxoo

What Have I Been Writing?

I’m writing the second book in my Rescue Ranch series.

My heroine, Elicia also has unique abilities. It will be interesting to see how she reacts when she realizes that the heroes are a little like her and she doesn’t need to hide any longer.
