Well, That’s Inconvenient. | Becca Van Erotic Romance

Well, That’s Inconvenient. 😮

Rambling On… 5 February 2021.

Last Sunday I did the laundry. Most of the clothesline was full of washing and I was just hanging out the last load which was towels. Low and behold something weird happened. I had to drop the first towel I was trying to hang out because the clothesline started toppling.

It fell to the ground.

Luckily that area of the yard is paved and not dirt and grass. I yelled for my man but since he didn’t hear me, I had to go find him.

I said, “The clothesline just broke and fell over.”

He looked at me incredulously and said, “What?”

I repeated myself then told him the metal at the base of the pole had rusted out. Obviously, the weight of the clothes was too much for the poor old thing and it toppled. We went back outside together and propped the rotary clothesline back up. I held it while he went rummaging about in the garage for some ratchet straps. I’m so glad he thinks outside the box. He used those straps on each corner of the line then tethered it to the fence and other strategic places securing it in place.

I finished hanging out the towels and when my washing was dry, got it all off the line and folded it up. I, of course, checked everything over to make sure they weren’t dirty, and thankfully, they weren’t.

After perusing new clotheslines online and getting my man to measure the space to make sure it’d fit, the very next morning I went to the shop and ordered a new clothesline. I was told it could take 7-10 days for the order to come in, but that didn’t stop me from using the broken clothesline through the week.

A call on Thursday from the shop told us the new clothesline was in. Although I hope my hubby can remove the old one and replace it with the new one this weekend, I’m not sure that’s going to happen.

He’s working tomorrow, Saturday and I don’t want to ask him to do it on his only rest day of the weekend, Sunday. That doesn’t mean he won’t though. I know him. He’s one of those people that has trouble sitting still. If he sits down even during the day, he has trouble keeping his eyes open and ends up taking a nap. He’s earned those catnaps as far as I’m concerned. His job is very physical, and he works hard.

I have clothes airers I can use under the pergola if I need to, and I’m still willing to use the broken secured clothesline as long as it’s relatively safe.

I hope you’re all well. Have a great weekend.

Stay safe, healthy, sane, and happy.

What Have I Been Writing?

I decided it was finally time to write Katie Bellamy’s story. She and her sister Kiara have been working at the Slick Rock diner for years and are now mature women.

Though I‘ve just begun the story, a few things have surprised even me which is strange since I’m the person writing the book. While I’d like to give you a few hints, I’m not going to since I don’t want to spoil things for all of you. Suffice it to say, I’m happy with the way things are going and where they’re leading.

What Have I Been Reading?

Christine Feehan’s Mind Game

I have felt a bit out of sorts as have the rest of us because my daughter hasn’t been able to find a house to rent as yet. We’re all feeling for her and are a bit stressed.

When that happens, I find myself re-reading familiar stories which I think is for comfort and stress relief. Nevertheless, I’m reading Christine Feehan’s Mind Game: Book 2 in her Ghostwalker series.

I really like Dahlia and Nicholas and how they interact and find a way to be together under unusual circumstances. If you haven’t read any of this author’s books, I highly recommend her work. The Ghostwalker series and her Dark Carpathian Series are great.

I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.

Love,

Becca Van XXOO
