The Bathroom Compulsion. 💦🛁
Rambling On… 11 December 2020.
About a month or so ago, my hubby removed all the grout and silicon in our ensuite bathroom, then re-grouted and resealed it. Since it’s not something he usually does it took him three days, but I’m so happy with the results.
When we bought our current house, it was only three years old but because the previous owner was sick and had three young children, the grout in the bathrooms suffered. I put up with it as long as I could scrubbing the heck out of it each week and slowly wearing the grout away. Lol.
Since my in-laws are coming for Christmas, and the main bathroom never looked clean even though it’s cleaned once a week religiously because the grout was being scrubbed out, the dark edges on the white tiles were visible. This made the bathroom look dirty in my eyes and I hated it.
My hubby didn’t have time to do it before Christmas because he’s booked solid and though I tried to start scraping the remaining grout out, I wasn’t strong enough. I have arthritis in my hands and some days they’re so weak I can hardly lift a pot off the stove.
I decided to ring around to see if I could get the bathroom refreshed but didn’t think I would be that lucky. Well lucky I was because the second person I rang said they could do it on a Sunday or Monday.
I was so shocked about the Sunday I was speechless and after questioning the day and the cost I booked them then and there. I’m happy to say both my bathrooms look sparking again.
The man who did it was wonderful and told me using harsh cleaning products or bleach on grout compromises its integrity and wears it out faster.
He told me about this multi-purpose cleaning stuff, Enzyme Wizard it’s called and it’s Australian made. It is safe to use with septic tanks and safe for use in fridges, freezers, and a slew of other things, and I have to say is the best cleaning product I’ve ever used. There is no caustic or nasty chemical smell and there’s also no need for any scrubbing.
I bought a large container of this stuff, mixed it, one part cleaning product and ten parts water into a spray bottle, sprayed it onto the tiles, the glass and the shower base, left it for five to ten minutes then wiped it off with a cloth.
I was so impressed I then used it on the tile kitchen splashback and the tiles are shiny, and the grout has never looked cleaner.
Each day after the last person has showered, I’m spraying the mix on both showers and it’s rinsed off before the next person bathes.
It’s so easy and the results are way better than anything I’ve ever bought at the supermarket and because it’s a concentrate it will be cheaper in the long run.
Hardly any effort is needed on my part to keep the bathrooms clean and I’m loving it. There are a few places on the tile floor where the grout is looking a bit grungy even though I wash the floors regularly too, so I’m going to use it on that too.
I hope you are all well and keeping your distance.
Stay safe, happy, sane, and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?
I’m still writing Slick Rock 31. I’ve beginning to know and understand my characters and so far, so good. I have an idea for a title but am not sure if I’ll stick with what I’ve chosen so far or change it when it’s completed. Sometimes a phrase or something one of my heroes or my heroine says piques my interest and I think, that’ll be a good title. One such event has already happened, and I made note of it, but a similar situation may crop up and if I like that one better, I’ll grab hold of it.
Oh, at the end of last month I finished writing and submitted Beautifully Imperfect 7: Exception to the Rule and Siren BookStrand have agreed to publish my book. Thanks again to everyone at Siren. You’re all the best.

What Have I Been Reading?
Last night, Thursday, I finished reading Rebecca Zanetti’s Hidden, the first book in the Deep Ops series. Reading about Pippa and undercover operative, Malcolm West kept me engrossed from the first word to the last.
This was a great story with a great mix of steamy scenes, action, and emotional connection.
I’ve had this book for a couple of years and forgot about it. I was going through my kindle and cleaning it up and found this book I hadn’t read yet. I’m so glad I did and I’m now onto the second story in the series.
I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.
Love,
