State Of Play In The Van House This Easter 🐰🥚
Rambling On… 2 April 2021.
I’m writing this newsletter a day early. It’s Thursday but since tomorrow is Good Friday and we’re heading into Easter, I ummed and ahhed about whether to do the newsletter. Obviously, I decided to do it. Lol.
Hubby and I are heading to South Australia for the long weekend to see his elderly parents. He saw them just after Christmas, but I stayed home since I had my daughter staying here.
Unfortunately, things didn’t work out for her at the new job. She was let go before her three-month probationary period was up and now, she’s back home with her partner. All her other work colleagues were angry, said she was a wonderful person, had a great, hard-working ethic, was good at her job, and didn’t want her to go. However, it was the owner’s decision and their opinion didn’t matter.
The shop she worked for was small and there were already three other guys working there. There were only two car hoists inside and what was consider half of one outside since it didn’t ascend very high. If a car was on the hoist and waiting on parts to be ordered, work on a vehicle was delayed until they arrived. That meant there was always someone floating. If my daughter was floating, she’d work on machining brake discs. She also thinks that the owner didn’t think about the cost of having an extra person on the books before hiring her.
Thankfully, she walked straight into another job in Melbourne, on the Monday following the Friday she finished up. She was incredibly sad, as were we all. She wanted to move closer to us and the town she was born in, but things didn’t pan out.
Maybe one day soon, she’ll find something closer to home and won’t have any trouble finding a house to rent.
My son has just figured out he’s lactose intolerant and is now on soy milk. I have a feeling that lactose isn’t his only issue. I suggested that maybe he’s FODMAP like I am, but he just grins and denies it.
He and I have been tested for coeliac disease and came back negative but that was years ago. Things change as we get older, and we can become more sensitive and intolerant to foods we’ve eaten for years.
I love corn but can’t eat it. I used to cook with garlic and onion in everything but if I eat it now, I get sick.
Anyway, I’m just rambling as usual since all I’ve done is work and house chores this week.
I hope you all have a very Happy Easter.
Stay safe, sane, happy, and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?
I’ve started a new paranormal shifter series. These shifters are like none you’ve ever heard of before and though I’d like to tell you a bit about them, I’m not going to. I don’t want this exciting secret getting out.
Yes, I’m excited and if and when Siren agree to publish the first book, I hope you’re all excited and enjoy reading about my made-up shapeshifters.

What Have I Been Reading?
I’m just over the halfway mark reading Becca Jameson’s, Layover (Open Skies Book 1) and it’s hot, hot, hot.
If you like a contemporary romance with a military guy and a mix of BDSM thrown in, then check this book out. So far, it’s great and if I didn’t have to sleep and work, I would’ve finished it already.
I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.
Love,
Becca Van XXOO
