Proud Mama⦠Love Seeing My Kids Succeed š
Rambling On… 23 October 2020.
So, as you all know my daughter was nominated for apprentice of the year along with six others. Unfortunately, she didnāt win, but that doesnāt matter to me or my hubby. In our eyes, sheās a winner. She completed her apprenticeship in 3 years instead of 4 and was the only nominee in the light vehicle mechanic category. Iām as proud as punch.
She sent us the recording of the ceremony last night which because of Covid-19 had no audience or student attendees. We watched it and smiled the whole way through happy and filled with pride for a job well done.
Her pre-recorded radio interview apparently went off without a hitch and though she was extremely nervous, she got through it as I knew she would. We still havenāt heard when it will be going live, but when my daughter knows, sheāll tell us. We think it will be early next week.
Love you Jessica, youāre a beautiful, hard working woman and weāre delighted to be your parents.
We had a bit of a nervous wait last week.
Friday was the deadline for all the paperwork and the deposit for the people buying my sonās house. My son got a frantic call from his conveyancer telling him about the issues but since it was after five oāclock there wasnāt anything he could do.
A call to his estate agent first thing Monday morning was a huge relief because the buyers had handed over a small deposit to secure everything and got word Monday morning about their finance being approved.
Chris, my son was on tenterhooks all weekend, as were we, but it was after office hours and out of our hands. Thankfully, everything worked out in the end.
Today, Friday, is aĀ designated public holiday since the AFL, Australian Football League grand final isĀ being played tomorrow. Usually, the grand final is played in September and in Melbourne at the MCG, Melbourne Cricket Ground, but because of Covid-19, the season started late and is being played interstate due to Victoria’s high number of Covid-19 cases.
The public holiday didnāt make a difference to hubby and I. We both still worked since we had a long weekend a fortnight ago.
Weāre still catching up for taking three weekdays off, but it was definitely worth it.
I hope you are all staying safe.
Have a great weekend and week.
Stay safe, happy, sane, and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?
Iām still writing Slick Rock 30 and while the end of the Trinityās, Thorpeās, Kayneās, and Gradyās story is in sight, itās going to be close to the end of the month before Iām finished.
Though this book has some action and steamy romance, itās a bit different to what I usually write. However, Iām not going to tell you anything else, so I donāt spoil it for you.
I canāt wait to finish up and submit it to Siren BookStrand for possible publication.

What Have I Been Reading?
Iāve done some more re-reads. The other night I finished readingĀ S.E. Smithās Gracieās Touch. A science fiction fantasy (Zion Warriorās Book 1).
I love this book and the interaction between the heroine and the hero as well as the secondary characters.
If you havenāt read any of this author’sĀ books, Iād start with this one.
I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.
Love,
