Maximus Interuptus… Slowing The Work Week
Rambling On… 16 April 2021.
It’s my baby’s birthday tomorrow, (Saturday). My youngest, my son is turning twenty-seven. My how those years have flown by and they just go faster each year. I can hardly believe my youngest child is so close to thirty. That makes me feel old. My man and my kids are my whole world. I love them heaps.
What a week it’s been.
Interruption after interruption. Some of them were my own doing, for appointments and some of them weren’t. It’s so ironic that my retired neighbour comes for a quick visit and ends up staying for an hour or more. Usually, the “or more”. While she’s a nice lady, she seems to conveniently forget that I still work. She popped in yesterday for a cup of tea and over an hour later I had to tell her nicely that I needed to get back to work.
Lo and behold you can guarantee that whenever she’s visited, my parents will drop by on the same day or the one after. They came today and while it was sort of nice to catch up—I don’t get on with my father because he was abusive when I was a kid— I still tolerate him and my mum coming around.
I went to the chiropractor on Wednesday and told him my left arm was really sore. After poking and prodding he told me I have tennis elbow. How can you get tennis elbow when you don’t play tennis? Apparently typing every day can cause the problem according to him and now I need to get an elbow brace to go with the wrist braces I already wear to help prevent RSI. I really hope that helps because my left arm has been really swollen and sore and I’ve had to ice it.
I had a hearing test this morning at ten o’clock. I did a thousand words before I had a shower then left for the appointment.
I’ve found I need to turn the TV up to hear some of the actors talking and sometimes even that isn’t enough. I usually try and have the captions on too, so I can read anything I miss. Forget about me hearing properly if we’re out for dinner and there’s a lot of background noise. Not happening. I’m always asking everyone to repeat themselves because I have trouble hearing them. I was really beginning to think that I needed a hearing aid.
After I had the test, I was told my hearing was in the average parameters which kind of surprised me. I texted my husband and told him the results and he sent me back the three monkey’s emojis. Haha.
My man and my son, when he’s home, are just going to have to get used to me having the idiot box up louder than they do with the subtext captions whenever I do watch the TV.
I’m just dribbling verbal diarrhoea since I haven’t done much, other than work again.

What Have I Been Writing?
I am still working on Alaskan Wildlands book 1 and am nearing the finish line. I have to say I’m really happy with the way this book is working out.
I even managed to surprise myself with some of the “facts” which are totally fictional that I’ve made up for this story and I like them. It’s wonderful how I can even surprise myself with what comes out of my own brain and ends up on the computer screen. Lol.

What Have I Been Reading?
I’ve just finished reading Hot Seal, Savannah Nights, (Seals of Paradise) by Kris Michaels and I loved it.
The accidental meeting of Rio North and Meghan Williams was unique and refreshing. This story kept me engrossed from the first word to the last.
Ms. Michaels definitely knows how to enthrall her audience and keep them wanting to read the next page and the next until the end.
I will leave it there for now.
