Just Roll With It – Find The Positives 😬
Rambling On… 06 August 2021.
So close and yet so far.
We were put into the fifth lockdown three weeks ago, the night before my man and I were going to go on holiday for five weeks and head to Darwin. The lockdown was then extended for another seven days. Even though the restrictions were eased after two weeks, the state borders remained closed to our state, including South Australia. Northern Territory where Darwin is located opened up to Victoria but since other states were still closed there was no way we could get there. Unfortunately, to get to Darwin we need to travel through SA, NSW, and Queensland which is the long way around, but the latter is rife with the Delta variant of Covid are locking everyone out which is the right thing to do.
We’ve been waiting for a week for that state to open its borders to Victoria. Lo and behold yesterday afternoon, they finally opened their borders but last night, us Victorians were put into another seven-day lockdown.
I have a feeling we won’t be going on our vacation for another couple of weeks.
Last year we sent six consecutive months in lockdown and are now in our sixth snap lockdown.
We were virtually Covid free, only had contaminated people in hotel quarantine until a couple of people stuffed it up by travelling from another state while infectious and spreading the virus. Thanks, we really appreciate you spreading your germs. Not.
Anyway, my man and I are still planning to go on our vacation, we’re just not sure when that will be.
Maybe my prediction about getting away for our 32nd anniversary in September in the last newsletter was on the money.
Who knows, it’s just a waiting game.
It gets so hard to find the good things in life when you are constantly disappointed by the events affecting us locally and around the world at the moment. That said, I am trying hard to look for the good things in my life and maintain gratitude and positivity for the things I can enjoy.
Most of all I have a great deal of thanks for the health and wellbeing of my family, and the knowledge that I am able to help so many of you with my writing. I have had a number of emails from you, my readers, who have thanked me for the escape and enjoyment you have received from these silly little books I write. It has really helped me in these times.
In all honesty, I am humbled that anyone would even buy and read my books. So, Thank You.
I hope you are all well and staying safe.
Have a great weekend.
Stay safe, sane, happy, and healthy.
Love Becca Van xxoo.
What Have I Been Writing?
I’m still writing Slick Rock 35 and am loving it.
This book is turning out to be longer than I expected it to be, and maybe the longest I’ve written yet.
Draven, Kyden, and Langston Reeve have their work cut out for them to gain Terri O’Brien’s trust, but we all know they will.

What Have I Been Reading?
I’ve been reading Rebecca Zanetti’s Deep Op’s series and have just finished reading Broken, the third book.
I love Clarence Wolfe; how gentle he is with Kat and how he has issues after fighting at a soldier. He and journalist Dana Mulberry deserve their happy ending.
I was kept on the edge of my seat and laughed out loud. If you haven’t read any of Ms. Zanetti’s stories, take a look at what she has to offer. You won’t be disappointed.
I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.
Love,
Becca Van XXOO
