Rambling On… 05 July 2019
So, I finally bought and read, as well as watched E.L. James’ Fifty Shades trilogy. While I understand some of you thought it was too tame and I understand why, I really, really liked this series.
I loved the way the author showed us that no one is perfect no matter what walk of life we’re from. Rich, poor, it doesn’t matter since most of us have issues to deal with. Christian’s way of dealing with the abuse he suffered as a child made him the way he was, made him think of himself as unlovable and the need to always be in control, but that wasn’t the case.
Being empathetic to the abuse he endured as a child since I can relate—it was intriguing to see how he dealt with Anastasia and how she dealt with him and held her ground.
She was determined to not sign a contract and managed to wheedle her way into his heart. Love is a wonderful thing, can be so healing and freeing.
I’m just a romantic at heart.
We didn’t end up going out for dinner last Saturday night. As you’re aware from last weeks newsletter, hubby and I went to the movies Friday night but didn’t eat out since I felt unwell. Saturday was a cold, wet and miserable day so my man and I stayed home.
However, it was nice since my son and his fiancée were away for the weekend. We had the whole house to ourselves for a change and it was wonderful.
Sunday, my parents took me and hubby out for lunch as a thank you. They’d not long come home from spending a month away in the UK touring England, Ireland, and Scotland. We looked after their house and made sure any newspapers and other mail were collected and taken inside.
The food was nice and for once we had an okay time. My father was quite pleasant for a change and didn’t make any nasty disparaging remarks. Maybe old age is mellowing him out. #Snort# Not bloody likely. He was out in public, so he put on his pleasant façade.
This weekend Saturday is going to be the best day of the weekend since the rain had been predicted for Sunday. I think it’s time for my man and I to go on another picnic to for some relaxation and rejuvenation.
It’s so nice for me to get out of the house since I’m working in it all week. I know my hubby likes to have at least one day at home to chill after being out at work all week, but he’s a legend and understands my need to escape the same four walls, too.
Compromise is a wonderful thing.
One day out. One day at home and we’re both happy.
What Have I Been Writing???
It took me a couple of days of writing different books to make up my mind. I’ve started writing number 8 in my Pack Law series but am still not sure I’m going to stick with this one.
I also have another story in mind for Slick Rock but am concerned you all will get sick of reading the books since I’ve written three of these in a row.
Send me a message and tell me what you all would like to read, and I’ll endeavour to write it.
