Block The Morning Light… ☀️ With A Door.
Rambling On… 22 January 2021.
I hope you’re all doing well.
Sorry I didn’t get a newsletter out to you last week. This time it wasn’t because of my man being too busy or too tired. I had a migraine and wasn’t feeling well. I didn’t even work the whole day and get my usual number of words out. Never mind. All’s well now.
Hubby and I decided a barn door was the perfect solution for our ensuite bathroom.
Though the toilet in the adjacent bathroom to our bedroom, which has a door, our ensuite doesn’t. We’ve ummed and ahhed about what to do for more privacy since we can’t do a sliding door or a pocket door as they say in the US. However, when we saw a barn door on a renovation show we decided that was the best way to go. The opening to the bathroom from the master bedroom is large and after selecting and buying the hardware online, my man bought some timber to make the door.
My man bought the door backing and then cut down tongue and groove flooring angling it from top to bottom to make pointed joins in the middle. It looks great. We’re at the painting stage and since the hardware is all black wrought iron, and the doors in the rest of the house are antique white, we decided to keep the colour uniform.
We haven’t finished painting it yet, but hopefully this weekend we will.
I hate having the bathroom lights shining in my face at six every morning when my hubby gets up to shower. Though I’m normally an early riser being woken from sleep that way isn’t very pleasant and it’s even worse in winter since I tend to sleep a bit later because it’s still dark. Hence the door.
It’s nearly twice the width of a normal door and my man will need to use a piece of wood to screw into the frame stud to take the weight which will be painted the same colour as the walls.

What Have I Been Writing?
I’m still writing Pack Law 12 in my werewolf series. Though I don’t as yet have a title, I’m hoping one will come to me soon.
I’m liking the way this book is going so far with an unusual twist I didn’t see coming and hope you all will like it too.plot in mind, but things could change as my characters lead me the way they want me to go.

What Have I Been Reading?
I’ve almost completed Julie Garwood’s Ransom, Highlands’ Lairds book 2.
I love reading how Gillian and Laird Brodick Buchanan interact. The humour and the way the laird and his loyal warriors trick Gillian is priceless, captivating, and very clever.
This book and the one before in the historical romance series kept me entranced and entertained the whole way through. Julie Garwood certainly has a way with the written word.
I will leave it there for now.
