And The Christmas Madness Begins.
Rambling On… 26 November 2021.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends. I hope you all had a wonderful time sharing the day and meal with your family and friends, finding things to be grateful for after such trying times.
My husband may have to take forced vacation time over Christmas and into the New Year. There is a shortage of wood, building supplies and metal for Colourbond fences (powder-coated steel).
This shortage is due to very low interest rates, a housing boom and the pandemic which saw a lot of our country shut up into lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus. Because of the shortage, the production companies are closing down longer over the holiday period since they won’t have much to sell.
I’m actually glad he’ll be taking more time off than he intended. My man works hard in a physically demanding job and some days he’s so tired he looks as if he should go straight to bed.
He has a guy helping him now too which is great for all the heavy lifting and for getting through jobs faster.
My husband is booked out four months in advance and he’s still getting customers sent his way by recommendation from previous customers. That’s really good too, but because of the shortage of building supplies, he’s going to have to push his scheduled jobs back a couple of weeks.
It is what it is and totally out of our control.
Maybe if I can get my December book finished early, hubby and I can go away for a few days after Christmas Day. I hope so.
We’re looking forward to spending the day with my family and I can’t wait. It will be a wonderful day.
I hope you’re all well and I wish you all a great weekend.
Stay safe, sane, happy, and healthy.

What Have I Been Writing?
I’ve completed this month’s book and have already sent the manuscript to Siren BookStrand for possible publication.
It was the second instalment of the Slave Gold Elites series which I’ve titled Legend of Sulpa. I had fun writing this story.
Tamika Greenway struggles to find her place on a new planet but when she decides what she wants to do, she isn’t about to let anyone get in her way.
As I said I’ve started writing December’s book. I was only intending to have three books in the new Slave Gold Elites series but as I sat down to create my characters and plot out the story, I realized that things weren’t going to work unless there were four books.

What Have I Been Reading?
I’ve read a lot of books since my last newsletter, but the most recent story was by Susan Stoker, Trusting Cassidy, Silverstone Book 4.
I read this story in two nights but would’ve read it in one sitting if my eyes weren’t sore after staring at my computer screen all day.
I loved how Leo “Gramps” Zanardi and the other Silverstone guys managed to get Cassidy and her son out of the drug cartels clutches in Jamaica and back to the safety of the US without too much fuss.
Of course, the story developed from there and was an exceptionally enjoyable read. There was action and romance.
I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.
Love,
Becca Van XXOO
