No Week Away, We Have Landscaping Week.
Rambling On… 24 July 2020.
The reason my man and I have cancelled our travel plans isn’t what you might be thinking. We haven’t postponed our trip because of Covid-19.
We’ve delayed our time out to help my son landscape the grounds of his new house to finish everything up so it can be put on the market.
Most of the fencing has been done. Only the back fence hasn’t been touched as yet. This is due to my son having two neighbours at the back. One of them is on board with my hubby doing the fence and the other neighbour hasn’t as yet replied.
My hubby has drawn up a wonderful plan for the backyard arrangement. The yard might be small but that doesn’t mean a small yard can’t be utilised to its full capacity. There is quite a slope going down toward where the back fence will be. The plan is to put up several small retaining walls. So, in essence, there will be steps sloping down. The first retaining wall close to the small back patio will be made into a seat. Before that seat will be an outdoor fire pit.
The front yard will have a couple of trees as well as some shrubs, but there will be no grass. Their block isn’t huge and since most people are time poor these days, the less mowing and gardening needed to be done the better.
Weed matting will be put down and on top of that small colourful stones. There’ll be some square paving to step onto to get to the letterbox which isn’t there yet, but a trip to the hardware shop will fix that.
A clothesline will be attached to the fence and then everything will be done.
All this work is going to happen next week with my son and my hubby working together.
I’ve offered to help but have been refused.
I think it will be good for my man and my son to have some time alone together so they can bond more.
Since my boy isn’t working again—yes, because of Covid-19 and the stupidity of people not giving a shit about anyone else but themselves. The spread of the pandemic is on the rise again—he and I are in the house together all the time. It will be good for us to have some time away from each other for a change.
Stay safe, healthy, sane, and happy.

What Have I Been Writing?
I’m still writing Beautifully Imperfect 5: Loving Mercedes. I had hoped to have Mercedes story completed today as my man and I were going to go away for a week. Since our time out has been cancelled, I decided it wasn’t worth pushing myself to the point of exhaustion to complete this book. However, I am close to the end and will have it finished early next week.
Let’s hope that Siren BookStrand like it enough to publish it.

What Have I Been Reading?
Last night I finished reading Amelia Hutchins’ Fighting Destiny, (The Fae Chronicles Book 1).
I started reading this book a few weeks ago and got sucked in from the first, but when things were tense here at home, I put it down because I was having trouble concentrating and getting back into the story.
Please, in no way think this is because the story was bad because it wasn’t. I picked it up again the other night and was immediately engrossed. I read that last of this story last night and I will be buying the next story in the series.
If you like dark paranormal, fantasy stories then this is a must.
Please be aware that this series is about Syn and Ryder and while it seems as though each story is complete—I’ve only read the first one so far and I can’t be sure—Synthia’s and Ryder’s story continue in the ensuing books.
I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.
Love,
