Full House – And Loving It đ
Rambling On… 20 November 2020.
Whatâs been happening in my neck of the woods?
Itâs been wonderful having my daughter living here all week so she can work at her new job. After dinner tonight, Friday, sheâll be heading back home to her man and her fur babies for the weekend and will be back on Sunday, ready for Monday.
The weather has been up and down but thatâs normal in our part of the world. The start of the week was around 25 degrees C and got progressively hotter as the week wore on.
This was a problem for my daughter. The reason being, sheâs been working outside in the sun and since she didnât know sheâd be outside on Monday, she didnât have on any sunscreen or a hat and she got burnt. Not badly, thankfully. Tuesday, she borrowed a hat, lathered herself with sunscreen, and took it to work with her to reapply. Wednesday was hotter but her boss managed to rig up an awning, so sheâd be in the shade while she was working. Yesterday, Thursday was approximately 35 degrees C which was a bit hard to take since we havenât had a lot of hot days consecutively and havenât been able to acclimate. Sheâs been working on fixing the brakes on a bus that wonât fit into the workshop or on a hoist. Hence, working outside.
I feel sorry for my man and my girl when itâs hot since theyâre doing physical jobs and donât have the luxury of being in air-conditioned comfort. However, they stay hydrated and keep covered up so they arenât burned to a crisp.
My son has a new girlfriend but heâs taking things slowly.
He met this lovely girl through my daughter since theyâre best friends. During the lockdown, my daughter and her friend would group chat with my son and play games online together to stave off boredom.
Turns out my son and my daughterâs friend have a lot in common. Yes, Iâve met her, and I like her a lot.
Chris asked her out on a date last weekend for lunch since he had to work later that night. They ate then went bowling and had a good time.
Iâm really happy for them both and theyâre both taking their time to get to know each other better and not rushing headlong into things.
I think this could really work.
My son told me this morning that he feels as if heâs known my daughterâs friend forever.
To me that says everything because thatâs how I felt when I met my man.
Iâm keeping my fingers crossed for them and I hope all goes well.
Only time will tell.
I hope you are all staying safe.
Have a great weekend.
Stay safe, happy, sane, and healthy.

What Have I Been Reading?
A couple of nights ago, I finished reading T.L. Swanâs, The Stopover, the first book in The Miles High Club.
This story is an M/F romance and I have to say it was really enjoyable. What started out as a hook-up turned into so much more. There was drama with emotional conflict and of course, romance.
Iâm not sure if Iâll buy and read the next book in the series, but that isnât because the story wasnât good. It was a bit different from what I usually like to read. I would still recommend this book to read.
I will leave it there for now.
Enjoy your week ahead, until next week.
Love,
Becca Van XXOO
